Privacy Policy

This policy explains what RideInsight collects, why, and what control you have over it. Plain language, no lawyer-speak where it can be avoided.

What we collect

• Account details — username, email, password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
• Content you create — posts, comments, builds, garage vehicles, comparisons, messages, club and meet activity.
• Uploads — profile photos, banners and post images.
• Basic technical data — the usual server logs, used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal information.
• We don't run behavioural advertising.
• We don't read your private messages except where required to investigate a report of abuse.

Third parties

Vehicle specifications are retrieved from third-party data providers. Those requests contain the vehicle you searched for, not your identity. Some parts in the builder link to external retailers; those links may be affiliate links, meaning RideInsight may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Once you follow a link, that retailer's own privacy policy applies.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and to remember your theme preference. That's it — no third-party tracking cookies.

Your control

• Edit or delete your posts, builds and garage entries at any time.
• Delete your account from Settings. This removes your account and its associated content and cannot be undone.
• Email rideinsightapp@gmail.com to request a copy of your data or ask a question about this policy.

Children

RideInsight isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and it will be removed.

Security

Passwords are hashed and requests are protected against cross-site request forgery. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password here.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will change and significant updates will be announced in the app.
